Payment is a central element of every economy and is currently undergoing fundamental changes – rapidly developing technologies and regulatory frameworks are changing the playing field, forcing a rethink and opening up new opportunities. At the same time, the ongoing digital transformation is enabling increasingly integrated, cross-company and cross-industry processes, i.e. a coming together of partners within and outside their traditional value chains. Added value for end customers is increasingly being created through innovation at these interfaces, and often through collaboration, i.e. cooperation between a wide variety of partners to achieve common goals. Taking this development into account requires intensifying cross-industry discourse and deepening mutual understanding as a basis for new ideas and innovations. The initiators of P19 have set themselves the goal of promoting the topic of ‘Collaboration & Innovation in Payment’ in Austria and building up the Payment Pioneers in the process.
