Banking Empowerment: Compliance, Speed and Sovereignty as Europe's Strategic Imperative

>

For #P19, it's clear: Banking Empowerment is not a matter of individual measures, but a strategic fundamental decision for Europe's banking sector. Those who think #compliance, #speed and digital #sovereignty as a unified whole will secure the relevance of European financial institutions. These important topics were also discussed at the P19 x bluesource - mobile solutions Round Table on #BankingEmpowerment – initiated by Birgit Kraft-Kinz and Martin Sprengseis-Kogler.

Wolfgang Stockner (bluesource) emphasized: Banking Empowerment needs pace – prototyping over planning, knowledge transfer over silo thinking. With mobile-pocket, softPOS and Bluecode technology, bluesource brings real hands-on experience. The bottleneck in innovation, however, lies not in budget or technology, but above all in trust.

Karin Forster (bluesource) points to growing compliance pressure: one in five banks puts nearly a third of its IT budget into it. bluesource provides relief here with AI-automated accessibility testing. Because good customer journeys must work for everyone: from Gen Z to older users and people with disabilities.

Martin Sprengseis-Kogler (bluesource, P19) distilled three levers: Reclaiming time – 60% of budgets flow into regulatory work; those who solve this more efficiently create room for innovation. Speed as a weapon – banks have the trust that neobanks lack, but too often not the agility. European sovereignty – core infrastructure belongs in local, European hands.
