As part of the #P19 Round Table series with Oesterreichische Nationalbank and Wirtschaftskammer Österreich on the #DigitalEuro, we brought together experts from #Mobility, #Retail, #Commerce and #Tourism.

Here are the key takeaways:

#Mobility: Seamless, interoperable, European. The Digital Euro can set new standards in mobility – from ticket purchases to automated billing.

#Retail: Simple and cost-efficient. Acceptance in retail emerges where the Digital Euro creates real added value compared to existing payment methods.

#Commerce: Reliability and low transaction costs matter. The Digital Euro can reduce dependence on non-European payment systems.

#Tourism: Tourism is cross-border – payments should be too. A unified European payment instrument strengthens the competitiveness of European destinations.

The conversation continues. At the #PaymentFestival in November, we'll bring the discussion to the main stage.
